Monde du Sauna was born in Montreal the way good things usually are — out of love. A love of ritual, of warmth, of wood, and of that particular feeling when you step out of a sauna into the cold and realize that everything is exactly right.
We are Lesia Reketchuk and Mykola Kondrat. Over twenty years of building businesses together — and this one is the one we were always meant to build.
Why We Built This
Quebec winters are long, dark, and unforgiving. Most people survive them — rushing between heated cars, heated offices, and the occasional spa trip booked weeks in advance. We wanted to offer something different. Something permanent. Something 30 seconds from your back door, available every Tuesday after hockey and every Sunday morning before the kids wake up.
So we build in 100% Canadian western red cedar — because it's the only material that deserves to be called right for this climate. Benches, floor, walls: all cedar, inside and out. No pine mix, no chemical coatings, no compromise. We build in Mirabel because proximity gives us control. We communicate directly because that's the only way to build something you'll love for twenty years.
